About This Course

Most professionals using generative AI tools today are producing mediocre results, and do not know why. The gap is rarely the tool. It is the understanding of how these systems actually work, how to direct them deliberately, and how to judge whether an output is genuinely good or just plausible-sounding.

This course closes that gap. Over two days, you will build a practical, grounded understanding of how generative AI systems work, from how large language models generate text to why outputs are probabilistic and variable — and develop hands-on capability across the major tools in use today: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot, and AI image generation platforms.

You will leave knowing not just how to use these tools, but how to produce consistent, professional-quality results, apply them across core business functions, identify unreliable outputs before they cause problems, and use AI responsibly within organisational and professional standards. This is an intermediate-level course for business professionals with some prior AI tool exposure who want to move from occasional experimentation to deliberate, productive use. No coding or technical background is required.

What You'll Learn

By the end of the course, trainees will be able to learn:
• How generative AI systems produce outputs: tokens, probability, training data, and why models behave the way they do
• Why outputs vary and what you can do to make them more consistent and reliable
• Structured prompting techniques including role prompting, chain-of-thought, and iterative refinement
• Hands-on practice applying AI to your own real work tasks
• AI for business writing, summarisation, research, ideation, and visual content generation
• How to compare and select the right AI tool for each task type
• How to detect hallucinations and evaluate AI output reliability before using content professionally
• Data privacy, copyright, and responsible use standards for AI in workplace contexts
• How to communicate AI-generated work to colleagues, clients, and stakeholders credibly
