Advanced Cinematic Videography & Mirrorless/DSLR Videography & Video Production Techniques
About This Course
Competent camera operation gets you technically correct footage. Production leadership gets you commercially viable work, and this module develops the second. At this level, the camera is only one element of the production. Your role is to plan and schedule the production, translating a client brief into a detailed shot plan and schedule, then to run the production operations on set: overseeing equipment and lighting setup, executing the shot plan through each setup, directing subjects with the specific and confident language that produces consistent results, and reviewing footage for continuity as you go. You lead and coordinate the production crew through complex multi-shot sequences, assigning roles, briefing each setup, and keeping the shoot on schedule, while solving technical problems before they become production failures.
This course is structured around the kinds of productions that professional videographers and content directors are commissioned to deliver: interview series with controlled lighting, product showcase films that require precise camera movement and subject direction, and branded content sequences that must hold together as a cohesive edit. You will work at every level of the production, planning, setup, execution, crew coordination, and review, so that by the end you can lead a shoot rather than just contribute to one.
