About This Course

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
1. Relate cross-cultural concerns of the local clientele to the workplace in a social service setting
2. Apply the ACE model when handling clients
3. Interpret the challenges when applying the ACE model
4. Prepare oneself in taking appropriate positions when facing situations involving cultural sensitivity

What You'll Learn

As Singapore society evolves into an increasingly more diverse melting pot of cultures and ethnicities, it has never been more crucial for social work practitioners to attain In-depth cultural awareness and understanding of the impact of cultural differences in their practice. This workshop shares the fundamentals in acquiring the necessary foundation and tools to become culturally competent. With a better awareness comes, a better understanding of the cultural challenges facing multicultural clients in the effort in rendering aid.

Entry Requirements

• Be able to listen and speak English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills System Workplace Literacy (WPL) Level 6 or above
• Be able to read and write English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills System Workplace Literacy (WPL) Level 6 or above
• Be able to use numeracy skills equivalent to the Employability Skills System Workplace Numeracy (WPN) Level 6 or above
