Chainsaw Operation and Maintenance (Level 2)
About This Course
Upon completion of the course, learners will be able to:
1. Recognise hazards and risks associated with chainsaw operations
2. Select and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate for the work
3. Understand the different procedures and guidelines for common types of chainsaws used in the industry
4. Perform pre-operational checks and calibration of chainsaws
5. Set up safe work area to minimise worksite risks and hazards
6. Operate chainsaw on ground to saw tree trunks using required techniques
7. Implement processes to minimise negative environmental impacts associated with chainsaw operations
8. Perform post-operational checks and maintenance
What You'll Learn
Entry Requirements
Learners should meet the basic entry requirements below:
1. Preferably with at least 3 months of relevant work experience in Singapore
2. Have basic knowledge of Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations and policies
3. Able to understand and speak basic English, or at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employment Skills System Workplace Literacy (WPL) Level 2
4. Able to work outdoor, under the sun, for an extended period of time
5. Able to carry chainsaw (more than 5kg) for an extended period of time
6. Be medically fit with no medical or physical conditions that could impede the ability to participate in the course
