Deterrence (Perform Security Duties at Protected Areas and Protected Places)
About This Course
To demonstrate mastery of the tasks in this course, the participants must be able to do the following within the given time limit and with the materials, tools and equipment supplied:performing security duties within and in the surrounding areas of the protected areas and protected places under the Infrastructure Protection Act (IPA).

2. Manage entries into protected area and protected place
3. Handle suspicious incidents involving person or vehicle at specific area of protected area and protected places
4. Handle suspicious incidents involving Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) sighted at specific surrounding areas of protected area and protected place
Entry Requirements
Learners should meet the basic entry requirements as indicated below:
1. Ability to read, write, speak and listen to English at WPL Level 4.
2. Ability to manipulate numbers at WPN Level 4.
3. Education: Minimum PSLE or secondary school education N level
4. Age: 18 and above
5. Experience in Security Industry: N.A.
6. To fulfil PLRD (Police Licensing & Regulatory Department) licensing requirements for a full fledge qualified Security Officer.
7. At the ATO Admin/ Registration Counter:
• A checklist to be provided to Admin to ensure the learner requirements (above) are met
• To make recommendations on suitable courses if the individual does not meet the entry criteria
• Verification of authenticity can be done via checking on certificates
