About This Course
The TMIS Tourist Guide Training Programme is designed for aspiring learners looking to join the professional tourist guide community in Singapore. Divided into two modules, the TMIS TGTP will train learners in tour guiding skills and techniques; learners will also be provided with information about Singapore and how to present the information to tourists.
TMIS has been conducting tourist guide training in its various iterations since the 1990s. Our trainers will be tapping on their decades of experience when sharing the tourism industry and the tourist guide profession. Our alumni are actively guiding in the local tourism industry with many going on to achieve national recognition.
Learners joining the programme can expect lectures, discussions, self-study and practical performance to hone their skills in preparation for a successful career in the tourism industry.
What You'll Learn
Module 2 - Professional Guiding Knowledge - Upon successful completion of this module, learners will acquire basic knowledge of Singapore that will kickstart the tour guiding career of the learners. They will be taught essential information on history, culture, religions, social policies etc. They will be familiar with major tourist attractions with field visits and practices. For other important tourist attractions, they will be provided with information to allow them deeper research if they have further interest.

Academic Level Required:
Applicants for the course are required to undergo a comprehensive screening process to evaluate both their language proficiency and general suitability for the course. This screening process includes a screening interview which will be conducted in English.
