About This Course
MOH and the Agency for Integrated Care (AIC) has embarked on a job redesign initiative to attract, develop, and retain support care staff for the Community Care sector. These support care staff are not trained licensed healthcare professionals and hence will require appropriate training to induct them into the sector. They can also look forward to employment opportunities in the Community Care sector with excellent opportunities for career advancement.
What You'll Learn
1. Understand and monitor factors affecting mobility and ambulation so as to provide levels of assistance necessary for safe mobility and ambulation of patients.
2. Understand the safety and health procedures so as to apply the strategies and precautionary measures to prevent falls.
3. Understand the procedures and techniques of safe lifting, transferring and positioning of patients so as to perform safe lifting, transferring and positioning of stable patients in accordance with identified techniques and organisational policies.
4. Understand the concepts of safe mobility and ambulation so as to coordinate patients’ use of devices and ensure functioning of equipment to enable safe mobility and ambulation for patients.

Entry Requirements
- No prior work experience is required
- Obtained at least a C6 pass at GCE 'N' level in any 1 subject; OR
- WPL 4 (Reading Listening, Speaking) AND WPL 3 (Writing)
