About This Course
This course provides a comprehensive insight into the daily operations of an airport, with a strong focus on aviation security. Participants will explore the key legislations, international conventions, and operational frameworks that govern airport environments. The program highlights the collaborative nature of airport security, reinforcing the principle that "Security is everyone's business"—not solely the responsibility of security personnel.
Developed in accordance with Airport Police Division (APD) requirements, this unit is a foundational component for the deployment of any security staff within the airport setting.
What You'll Learn
1. Understand key aviation security definitions and terminologies
2. Interpret the Air Navigation Order and its relevance to airport operations
3. Identify threats to civil aviation and assess their impact on air travel
4. Describe the airport security framework and organizational structure
5. Understand airport pass identification systems and their control measures
6. Recognize incendiary and explosive devices (IEDs), as well as dangerous goods
7. Explain the roles and responsibilities of security screening units
8. Apply the TOPSIS framework in response to terrorist threats within the airport environment
Entry Requirements
Minimum of one N-Level pass in any subject OR achieve at least Level 4 in three Workplace Literacy and Numeracy (WPLN) domains (Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing, or Numeracy)
