About This Course
Deterrence (Perform Security Duties at Protected Areas and Protected Places) SEC-ICM-2001-1.1, aims to equip learners with skills and knowledge to perform security duties and be able to apply appropriate actions to deter undesired outcomes at protected areas and places based on the organizational standard operational procedures under the Infrastructure Protection Act (IPA) 2017 which includes the following:
1.Assist law enforcement officers with organisational procedures aimed at preventing unauthorised entries to protected areas and protected places
2.Apply appropriate techniques to stop unauthorised intelligence gathering and suspicious activities in the protected areas and protected places
3.Apply appropriate regulations during refusal of entry of banned characters
4.Manage and refuse entries appropriately
5.Assist law enforcement officers in detaining subject who behave suspiciously and fail to justify his presence in the protected areas and protected places.
6.Apply appropriate techniques to seize unauthorised equipment that performed unauthorised intelligence gathering and suspicious activities in the protected areas and protected places.
What You'll Learn
Entry Requirements
Learner must have obtained at least WPLN Level 4 (Low Intermediate)
Assumed Attitude:
- Be able to listen, write and speak English proficiently in a clear and confident manner
- Committed to attend the classes and complete the assessment of the course(s) applied for.
- Does not have personal / official obstacles which will prevent him / her from attending classes and assessment.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Possess appropriate level of subject matter specialisation and industry experience, relevant for the security industry.
Learners should have at least 6 months of working experience as a security officer.
Learners should possess a secondary education with GCE ‘N’ Level, or at least a minimum of Secondary 2 education.
