About This Course
To address the following.
1. Weaken Service - There has been significant needs to close the gaps in service rendered to foreign employees in Singapore, with some reference to recent incidents at dormitory that reflect the need to strengthen the services.
2. Lacking of Soft Skills in Operators - Our surveys reflect that there are needs for proper training in the dormitory or housing sector that accommodate foreign workers. While there are plenty of related trainings available, one that cater to this sector may not be apparent.
3. Demonstrating our Services - The training aimed to revitalize learner to establish the skill and knowledge in facility management in health and environmental control in dormitories, and in applying hygiene standards, safety standards and practices between general workers, maintenance teams and contractors supporting dormitory operators. The training also aimed to let learner demonstrate safe practices and standards in managing contractors or general workers, and the impact on how standard daily checks to be executed which can enhance the understanding and appreciation in facility management.

This module is following the spiral curriculum, this starts off with the fundamentals on the understanding on how to manage facility in running condition including regulatory requirements (LU1).It then progresses to the delivery daily facility management procedures in a very structured approach which involves daily routine monitoring and inspection, basic troubleshooting on rectification of equipment or facility and to update vendors’ maintenance procedure with the triggering for corrective or preventive maintenance (LU2). The complexity then increases in the myriad ways of applying daily facility maintenance work procedures (LU3). It finally progresses with the Implementation of safety work procedures, use tools and equipment for maintenance inspections and to record routine maintenance work. (LU4).
Entry Requirements
For this course, learners are assumed to possess the following skills and knowledge:
- Language ability: English proficiency, WSQ Level 3
- Educational level: 'N' Level above
- Numeracy proficiency: WSQ Workplace Numeracy (WPN) LEVEL 3
