Elevating Adult Learning: Practical Andragogy in Action
About This Course
This workshop moves beyond theory by providing a structured design toolkit that participants can apply to their professional training context the very next day.
Participants master research-backed frameworks, such as Gagne’s 9 Events and Bloom’s Taxonomy, to ensure every lesson segment leads to measurable performance outcomes.
Educators gain the skills to identify and cater to diverse learner profiles, moving away from 'one-size-fits-all' delivery to create truly inclusive environments.
Every learner walks away with a verified 'Lesson Segment Blueprint' that serves as a high-quality artefact for their professional portfolio.
What You'll Learn
Building on foundational andragogical principles, such as Knowles’ theory, participants will explore how motivation and life experience shape the adult learner’s journey. You will gain practical techniques for creating learner-centric experiences, applying instructional design frameworks—including Biggs’ Constructive Alignment and Gagne’s 9 Events—to accommodate diverse learner profiles. The session culminates in a hands-on design challenge where you will synthesise these frameworks into a cohesive 'Lesson Segment Blueprint'. This workshop provides essential skills that participants can immediately apply to their professional context, building the confidence needed to design inclusive, interactive, and high-impact learning environments.
By the end of the programme, Participants will be able to:
1. Knowledge: Explain the role of andragogical principles in adult learner engagement.
2. Ability: Create basic interactive learning activities for diverse learner profiles.
3. Ability: Incorporate instructional frameworks into a logical lesson flow.
