PBL for Learning Reimagined : Designing Problem Triggers
About This Course
Creating engaging, realistic problem scenarios traditionally requires weeks of development time, a luxury most adult educators lack. This course revolutionises this bottleneck by harnessing generative AI to accelerate PBL creation while maintaining pedagogical rigour. This addresses the critical challenge facing Singapore's Continuing Education and Training sector: scaling quality learning experiences without proportional resource increases.
With AI literacy becoming mandatory across all sectors, this workshop positions educators at the forefront of educational technology integration. While others debate AI's place in education, participants learn to leverage it strategically, creating authentic learning experiences that would be impossible to develop manually. The workshop directly responds to the Skills Framework for Education's call for technology-enhanced pedagogy and the Adult Education sector's need for innovative delivery methods.
Prerequisite: This course is intended for participants who have completed PBL for Learning Reimagined: The What (Basic) or who already possess strong foundational knowledge of PBL concepts.
What You'll Learn
Through guided application, educators will create ready-to-use PBL problem triggers tailored to their specific subject areas, supported by relevant resources. They will also gain confidence in using AI to complement, rather than replace, their pedagogical expertise.
By bridging PBL theory and practice with cutting-edge tools, this course aims to position adult educators as frontrunners in learning innovation within their classrooms.
Knowledge-based learning outcomes;
- Explain the key components of effective PBL problem triggers
Skills-based learning outcomes;
- Design PBL problem triggers aligned with clear learning objectives for adult learners.
- Create relevant resources that enhance learner engagement with the problem triggers
