Content Architect with Google AI: Crafting High-Impact Learning Resources
About This Course
Educators are increasingly expected to produce high-quality learning resources quickly, yet AI-generated content is often used uncritically, risking accuracy, relevance, and learner trust. This course addresses that gap directly. This is not a content-generation course; it is a resource design course where AI is treated as an aid to curation, evaluation, and instructional decision-making. Building on foundational tool familiarity, participants apply established instructional design principles alongside Gemini Deep Research, NotebookLM, Google Vids, and Gemini Canvas to design, curate, and create learning materials that are evidence-based and learner-centred.
What makes this course valuable is its disciplined approach: participants learn to evaluate AI-generated content critically and to make deliberate design decisions rather than accept first drafts. Through hands-on creation across multiple formats, participants leave with practical, repeatable AI-assisted resource-creation workflows they can apply confidently within their own workplace learning and educational contexts.
What You'll Learn
Content Architect is an intermediate, design-focused course that equips adult educators to curate, evaluate, and develop high-quality learning resources using Google AI tools, including Gemini Deep Research, NotebookLM, Google Vids, and Gemini Canvas. Participants learn to source and critically assess information, generate multimodal learning materials, refine AI outputs for instructional quality, and design learner-centred, workplace-ready resources.
Anchored in IAL's ADAPT framework, the course develops Intermediate-level proficiency in evaluating, selecting, and creating learning resources, supported by the CRAAP framework and established instructional design principles. Participants move beyond simply generating AI content to making purposeful design decisions about audience, format, cognitive load, accessibility, and learning alignment. They leave with an AI-assisted resource library tailored to their teaching context and the confidence to act as learning designers who create accurate, usable, and transferable learning assets.
Part of the IAL-Google (ADAPT) Certification Programme, Movement 2: "I can design this," the course develops the AI Creator capability—designing, curating, and producing high-impact learning resources with AI while applying sound instructional judgement. It builds proficiency in ADAPT's Digital Literacy & Resources domain (D3.2-D3.6), while drawing on Teaching, Learning & Empowering Learners (D1) and Professional Engagement (D4). It builds on AI Explorer (W2) and prepares participants for Experience Designer (W4).
