Coaching for Performance and Capability Development 2.0 (Classroom and Asynchronous E-learning)
About This Course
Coaching staff for growth, development and performance management have become one of the most important leadership skills to master. Many managers are skilful task drivers to achieve results but are poor people developers.
This course has been contextualised to address specific leadership skills to equip Leaders and Managers with the fundamental coaching skills to develop and enhance employees’ performance and potential. This coaching skill is needed when holding performance appraisal, employee engagement, setting performance goals, and rewarding performance. The goal is to achieve the organisation objectives, develop people and retain good talent.
What You'll Learn
There are three broad learning outcomes for this module:
1. Apply coaching skills and techniques to enhance team performance.
Participants will learn the Coaching Principles and Mindset aligned to ICF coaching competencies to enhance team performance, differentiating the impact between coaching and mentoring. They will be able to apply the art of powerful questioning, listen actively and build trust to coach effectively. Participants will also learn how to establish coaching goals and use a structured coaching process for effective client communication.
2. Develop capabilities of team that are aligned to organisation strategies and needs.
Participants will be able to analyse team capabilities using organisation training needs analysis methodology. Through real-world scenarios, they will evaluate the business needs, performance and capability needs of the team. From the analysis, participants will learn to coach individuals to develop their learning and development plans as part of talent management.
3. Facilitate learning and change within team.
Participants will apply various tools and techniques to create awareness for change. To facilitate performance management, they will learn about the barriers to change, help design actions, explore resources and support to facilitate learning and change.
Entry Requirements
This programme is targeted at formal and informal leaders with at least 5 years of work experience and/or at least one year of supervisory experience in an organisation. Participants are expected to be fluent in spoken and written English, preferably with a Diploma or above level qualification.
