About This Course

A recent global study conducted by International Coaching Federation (ICF) shows that the number of leaders using coaching skills has increased significantly. As more leaders start to coach, there is a growing need to enhance their capabilities to coach complex situations and difficult employees.

The objective of this course is to help learners transform their coaching experience into practical insights for personal growth and impact. This will involve reflective practice and mentor coaching i.e., gathering feedback from peers, supervisors, and mentor coaches. This course will also address ethical and professional integrity dilemmas leaders faced when coaching certain conflicting and sensitive situation.

Coaching is an essential skill for leaders and managers to demonstrate care for their employees and community at large. By caring for their team members, organisation will see a significant improvement in performance and employee well-being. Coaching has become a strategic Human Resource (HR) initiative for employee engagement management and among the top priority skills in the fast-growing Care Economy.

What You'll Learn

This course is the final Module 4 of the Certified Performance Leadership Coach (CPLC) program, an International Coaching Federation (ICF) accredited coach certification program. Participants who complete the full CPLC Level 1 program will be eligible to apply for ICF Associate Certified Coach (ACC) credential through the Level 1 credentialing applications.

There are 3 key topics that will be covered:
1. Review Coaching Requirements for effective Leadership Coaching.
Learners will have a good understanding of the training, credential exam and professional practice requirements of an ICF Credential Coach. They will enhance their knowledge and understanding of the coaching competencies and behaviours of an effective coach for employee engagement management.

2. Demonstrate, gather feedback and Reflect on Coaching Practice.
Learners will demonstrate their coaching competencies in role plays and gather feedback for professional development. They will be able to apply the principles and methods of reflective practice as part of their professional development.

3. Maintain Ethical Standards and Professionalism as a Coach.
Learners will interpret the ethical and professional integrity code of conduct of a Coach through case studies. They will also assess their current self-care level and develop self-care strategies and emotional resilience. Finally, they will identify and develop supervisory and support framework for their own development needs.
The coaching competencies and standards are aligned to International Coaching Federation (ICF), a global leading organisation that sets the guidelines and standards for coaching.

Entry Requirements

The Entry Requirements are as follows:
• At least Polytechnic Diploma or University Degree using English as the medium of learning
• AND at least 8 years of work experience in an organisation
• AND at least 3 years of supervisory experience in an organisation
• Digital literacy is required (e.g., have attended SkillsFuture for Digital Workplace)
• Completed foundational coaching skills training aligned to International Coaching Federation (ICF) core competencies
